Is there a specific method of determining that headwear is fit for further use and/or in date for test. Furthermore is it permissable to stick company logos onto bump hats etc.

What guidance is there on sticking company logos onto hard hats, bearing in mind that certain glues may interact with the plastic and reduce the life or efficiency of the hat.

The HSE provides the following advice, from L102, Construction (Head Protection) Regulations 1989 : guidance
on regulations, ISBN 0717614786, priced at £5.50.
Certain chemicals can weaken the plastic of the shell, leading to rapid deterioration in shock absorption or penetration resistance. Chemicals which should be avoided include aggressive cleaning agents or solvent-based adhesives and paints. Where names or other markings need to be applied using adhesives, advice on how to do this safely should be sought from the helmet manufacturer.
