With regard to the Noise at Work Regulations, area of interest "Annual Hearing Tests for employees exposed to Noise", what criteria is used in the hearing test?

The following advice is taken from the HSE's information leaflet "Noise at Work - Advice for Employers, downloadable at http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg362.pdf
"Programmes for hearing checks need tobe under the control of someone who can make sense of audiometric data and advise individuals on the state of their hearing and on follow-up action.This might be a doctor,a nurse withappropriate training and experience,anaudiological scientist or a trained audiometrician ready to refer employeesto a more qualified person when they need more advice."
