90% for me, but only after a couple of second guesses in some places. I really can't believe the sign for "Don't switch off"!!!

Only 90% how diapointing is that? However of course it all depends on what environment you work in as some safety signs are not in use in every location.
I think Workplace Law Network should send this short test out on a CD Rom to all its members, This will not only highlight the need for knowing safety signs but will get WLN some advertising at the same time.

90% - but five of those I got right, it was my 2nd attempt, so I would only give myself 65%.

90% and 3 of those were second guesses. Some of those signs are really ambiguous! I agree about the don't turn off sign and the 'mind the step'?

13 correct on first choice, 7 correct on second choice. Not bad tho most i hadnt seen before (regularly used signs!!??) and i had to use common sense to figure them out. i'm sure that if i saw them in situ they'd be clearer to understand e.g. "low shelves".

Scored 95% but needed 2 attempts at at least half. Guess we all need to be more aware of signs that we dont use everyday.

Surely the answer given for #8 is incorrect. It is explosive or explosive material - not 'explosion'
Is the 'don't switch off' sign for real? :-)

Very interesting test - not sure I would have done so well without the multiple choice options - shows importance of words and pictures together. Thank you!

Surprising and somewhat misleading.
Also, some signs, such as the laser, are somewhat specialised?

100% but putting my pedantic "safety" hat on, the sign you say indicates an "explosion" is actually used to warn of an "explosive substance". A sign warning of an explosion wouldn't be much use after the event. Do I win £5 ?

I don't think you should count as a correct answer the ones I answered correctly only at second try. In case of danger you usually don't have a second chance!

100% for me on second attempt (I got 89% first time with some second chances)but some of them are rather obscure and had to be guessed at.

Testing and Training:
A really good quiz - well done!
I scored 95% - got one wrong!
It's always good to test on safety knowledge - the award-winning training website at www.CDM2007.org provides for fully tested modular on-line training on the new CDM 2007 Regulations and more.

Although I did pretty well, some I had to try twice and if I had language or learning difficulties I'm sure I would have struggled.

Some of the signs seem fairly uncommon, however a good test to take.

Scored 85% half I had not seen before, of those 3 did not match my logic one of which I have seen on several occasions at the roadside with the script "danger Ice" which was incorrect according to the quiz. This being the case Who is right?

Number 3 reminds me of what do you see when you look at an ink blot. All I can see is 2 people playing polo riding strange looking Dyson upright vac cleaners.
Failing that it's a teddy bear with horns on its head & human hands, fingers in ears. And I'm not alone a colleague sees ants playing football!
The signs certainly elucidate the need for accompanying text.

I was surprised how many signs I failed to recognise! I would not consider an 80% score enough, which just shows that we all depend on the words that go with the signs.

only 80%!!! does anyone agree that all safe pass classes should be thought in just english, since we need the text (english) on our Safety Signs?

Good quiz only got 75% because of the second chances - some were just silly without the accompanying english. And don't switch off! what's that about? the switch was already off......

95% with quite a few second guesses but many are far too ambiguous. I too thought it was explosive materials, if it did actually mean explosion i'm not convinced you'd need the sign, or if you'd have anywhere to hang it!
The noise one Suzanne, definitely looked like two ants fighting over a peanut!
Some signs really should be text only.
