I've just taken over as the H&S manager for a company that already has set it's AFR's previously using the standard industry equation of:
Number of riddors in a rolling 12 month period x 100,000. devided by Number of hours worked that month
The probl;em is that during the lenght of the project there will be approximatly 750,000 hours over 5 years. It would seem that by using 100,000 hours it skews the figures if there is one one riddor.
Has anyone got any ideas as to how this could be changed and what would be a suitable AFR as well as appropriate hours etc.
