It is a pity that the Labour Party don't put it in to practice recent selections for candidates to local elections have reveiled that each ward or division must have a women candidate no matter what, the candidate selection is that women go first and then any women left can have a second go with the men to secure a seat. If no women stands the selection is suspended and held when a women can be found. This rule applies no matter even if the women is up against a better man it is not based on ability and therefore not a level playing field.
