A couple of things:
Of the 54,000 I wonder what the ratio of staff is to volunteers? I guess a volunteer could take any day off if they wanted.
How many National Trust properties are open in February? Not too much of an operational impact I suggest, although admin will need to 'catch up'. I expect they're salaried so won't be paid extra for overtime.

Its an interesting concept.... though I hope that all sensible employers will reinforce the idea that each annum they are paid for 365.25 days and receive a 12th of that each month...
Its as daft as an employer being able to ask staff to come in to work on a saturday to do an extra day in months with only 30 days.
