This news is not new......Most of the damage will be attributed to unknown third parties however the more cynical fleet/insurance managers would put this damage to drivers who have caused the damage themselves and present as car park damage. It is agreed that hitting posts/lamps etc is totally unacceptable think of that post as a child hiding behind the car....a 360 degree circle of the car before driving off makes sure the driver has orientation of any dangers and can also just check tyres are all inflated at the same time or no other problems exists such as broken tail lights. Takes seconds....

One way to solve the problem is to get rid of company cars. We now have just seven from over 130 (due to cash incentives) and its not surprising that car park incidents are now almost zero due to owners looking after their own cars! Never happened with company cars which were treated with careless abandon ....
