Hard to understand how Tribunal could conclude Company acted reasonably. If Mr Copsey took the job 14 years ago on the understanding there was no Sunday work then his conditions of service are set. Sunday working changes these conditions and are therefore subject to negotiation.
WBB Devon Clays dismissing Mr Copsey does not help fulfil the large order in that 14 years experience cannot be got overnight.
Surely five days work from Mr Copsey with maybe a private word in his ear on how he could assist the Company to achieve the target without compromising his beliefs eg 1.5 hours per day overtime, would have saved the day
From this distance it seems WBB were looking for an excuse to sack Mr Copsey
