In the light of this report and also the Employment Act 2002, employers are advised to ensure that their disciplinary procedures comply with the ACAS Code of Practice. As an absolute minimum, they should adopt the new statutory procedures under the 2002 Act, which are expected to become mandatory for employers of all sizes in late 2003.
