Fairness & Diversity sounds like one of those oximoron jokes used between the services where RAF lads would suggest ' Naval intelligence ' was funny in some way.
With the academic 'summer break' (not sure anymore whether politically correct to use 'holiday' and am now sure can't use 'Christmas' in the same sentence) nearly upon us I was wondering how many indiginous students can really on summer jobs as market forces seam to have already filled most temporary jobs with other ethnic groups?
Also still no mention of, and i have been looking out for it, any suggestion of positive discrimination for another age diverse indiginous group "the Functionally Illiterate" but perhaps, simply because not in enough of a minority when over 7 million reading disabled with seriously limited "access to text".
The CBI, TUC & Equality & Human Rights Commission have moaned about it just perhaps time to support positive action in developing Digital Literacy as a universal human right toooo in the age of multi-channel communications.

This law basicly is ridiculous. It says the Employer has the right to choose which of two equal candidates he or she wants.
But this has always been the case. Hasn't it?
Will the guidelines say that the employer must decide before meeting candidates what attributes he is looking for in the candidate rather than the job (ie disabled, black, gay or whatever to 'balance the workforce')? Or wait till they have the candidates and then compare them to the organisation stats and choose which fits best?
Business as usual, if you ask me - they'll explain it as they do now. After all, interviewing is about finding the best candidate for the job - and they always have a reason why the one they chose was best. I was never turned down on they basis I was as good as the other candidate!
