My wife was involved in a similar accident recently, where the driver appeared to be at a junction for some time. Although the roundabout was clear the driver of the vehicle in front stopped for no apparant reason. Contact was very minimal but the driver went into a 'panic attack' claiming chest problems etc. An ambulance was called and the police duly arrived. A claim has been made against my wife's insurance company and my wife has lost her no claims. There was no damage to either vehicle, not even a scratch, surprisinging when you consider that the vehicle in front had a tow bar fitted. No airbags were set off. The whole incident appeared staged. How do you prove otherwise?

You should discuss your suspicions with the insurance company and the police.
Any fleet managers with experience of fitting cameras to vehicles that they can share?
Obviously keep your distance is good advice here, to all motorists.

I work investigating insurance fraud - any tidy insurer should have a dedicated fraud unit who will look into this.
That said, they can be notoriously difficult to prove
