Part of my responsibility is the Front of House Operation which has three security officers and three receptionists handling up to 2000 members and guests per day
The security officers ensure that members are who they say they are and generally assit guests through the process of "booking in" with the receptionists.
Are these "security officers" classed as door supervisors?

Yes, in my opinion they are. The significant part is the fact that you say they check that visitors 'are who they say they are', i.e. are members and have a proper right of entry, which is a significant part of a door supervisor's function.

If the Security Officers are vetting people for their suitability to enter the premises, then they are Door Supervisors. I am a SIA (Security Industry Authority) registered Door Supervisor myself, and the SIA would definately class this as Door Supervision and a Frontline Security License and badge would be required if they are doing this type of work. The fact that they also help to 'Book in' at reception could make the fact that they would be classed as Door Supervisors stronger. The SIA's website will be able to give more information on the subject.

I thought it depends on whether its a licensed premises, either way they have to hold some form of SIA license whether it is a door supervision one or not. Best to check on SIA website as its a possible 6months in prison or £5000 fine if you dont get it right.
