Employee has worked for company for 9 years full time until November 2006 when going on maternity leave. After returning from mat. leave employee is now on part time hours - 18 hours per week. In April 2008 company relocated this employee (by letter, without any notice) to their other premises and reduced hours. At this time the company also served a P45 to the employee from original company and a new contract was raised for new company.
Basically the owner transferred ownership of company 2 into her daughters name. At the same time they changed the holiday system from Jan - Dec to April - March.
Employee has no idea where she stands on anything, has tried to contact boss only to find her mobile number disconnected. Employee has been turning up for work as expected. Recently had two weeks holiday, which was okay'd by boss.
Employee has now returned to work only to be told that she owes two weeks holidays as she has taken too many. She is paid cash, although has a pay slip, she only received fourteen weeks payslips last week as the boss keeps them in the safe to which employee has no access.
Employee has just today handed in a weeks notice. Questions are (1) How many days holiday should she have been entitled too. (2) if she works her notice this week , Can the boss refuse to pay her for shifts?

1 - a minimum of 24 days per year (goes up to 28 later this year) - her contract (or implied contract) may provide for more.
2 - no - under no circumstances can the boss do this. The employee should take advice on any money she may be owed.

Sorry, I just noticed the part time thing.
It is 4.5 weeks holiday per year - in her case a week may be made up of only a couple of days.
