The Young Workers Directive The DTI has issued a consultation document seeking views on the most appropriate way of implementing the Directive. The Directive affects all employers with employees over the school minimum leaving age but under eighteen. The aim of this legislation is to provide fair minimum standards which ensure that young people are protected from excess working time which could have adverse effects on their health, safety and education.
