The operators of the Glasgow factory that exploded in 2004, killing nine and injuring more than 30 others, have been fined £400,000 for health and safety breaches.
The penalty was imposed on ICL Plastics and ICL Tech following a two-day hearing at the High Court in Glasgow. The companies had previously pleaded guilty to the breaches.
However, a statement released by the families of the victims called the fine “inadequate”, and called for a full public inquiry.
