A gangmaster in Cornwall that failed to pay 40 Bulgarian workers for 34 days, leaving them to scavenge for food, has had its operating licence revoked.
The Gangmasters Licensing Authority (GLA), which regulates the farming, food processing and shellfish industries, said it heard of the case after the workers for Baltic Work Team complained to the Bulgarian embassy. It immediately revoked the gangmaster’s licence.
