Employee dismissed for smoking at work loses Tribunal claim

A man who was dismissed for smoking “an inch or so” within his workplace has lost his unfair dismissal claim.

John Smith was dismissed from his job as a tyre finisher at a Michelin factory in Dundee four days before Christmas last year, an Employment Tribunal heard.
