New government strategy to tackle business waste

Environment Secretary David Miliband has today (24 May) published a new strategy for cutting waste, and said that everyone — businesses, individuals, local authorities and the Government — has a role to play by reducing the waste they produce.

Waste reduction has been highlighted by the Government as an essential part of the drive to tackle climate change, as landfilled waste is a major source of methane and reducing and recycling waste saves energy and raw materials.... (651 more words)
