National Work from Home Day: the health and safety issues

Employers who wish to implement flexible working practices have important health and safety issues to consider.

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HSWA) places duties on employers to protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees whether they are working from home or at the employer’s workplace.

As part of Work Wise Week, National Work from Home Day (18 May) urges businesses to try homeworking as this is said to be beneficial for employers and employees alike.
