Insufficient guarding and risk assessment caused amputation

    A waste company has been fined £50,000 after an employee had all the fingers on his left hand amputated while using an industrial piece of machinery.

    Greater Manchester Waste Ltd was ordered to pay £50,000 in total fines plus costs of £6,750 at Manchester's Minshull St, Crown Court after pleading guilty to three criminal charges at Trafford Magistrates' Court.
