Company fined after untrained worker causes accident

    A property services company has been fined £4,000 with cots of £12,000 in relation to a construction site accident where a worker lost a leg.

    The prosecution followed an investigation by the HSE into an accident that occurred on 23 November 2004. Labourer Lance Smith was injured while assisting a colleague with picking up a one tonne of ballast from the rear of a tipper truck using an excavator.
