37 employees injured in chemical leak

    It has been reported that 37 employees have been injured in a chemical leak in Teeside yesterday morning (4 January).

    The incident happened at the BASF plant in Teesside when the substance hexamethylene diamine was involved in a leak.

    The substance in question is used in the manufacture of nylon fibres and plastics and causes burns and irritation if it makes contact with the skin.
