It has been reported that the owners of Festival Fireworks, the company involved in Sunday’s (3 December) explosion, had previously been fined for storing explosives without a licence.
In 1999 the company, under its former trading name Sussex Fireworks and Displays Limited, was fined £1,000 plus court costs after the HSE served it with an enforcement notice.
