Reacting to recent statistics from the Office of National Statistics (ONS), which show that the gender pay gap is 17.2%, the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) has said that employers, as well as employees, are missing out by not tackling the issue in their organisation.
According to the EOC these figures mean that the average woman working full-time will lose out on around £330,000 over the course of her working life.
