Paper company didn't remedy poor machine-guarding standards

A paper company already in receipt of a Prohibition Notice for a similar offence has been prosecuted and fined after HSE officials discovered machinery was inadequately guarded at its new premises.

Accrol Papers Ltd was issued with the notice relating to machine guarding standards following an accident at its previous premises at Vale Mill, Blackburn, in 1999. They have now been prosecuted following an investigation at another site in Blackburn.
