A rail repair company has been fined £100,000 for health and safety breaches four years after a workman suffered a massive electric shock at Harlow Mill station.
John Moss sustained severe burns and lost two toes and part of his right foot when 25,000 volts from a live overhead cable passed through his body.
GrantRail Ltd pleaded guilty at Chelmsford Crown Court to failing to ensure employee safety and as well as the fine was also ordered to pay £19,339 costs.
