A new report has named 6 February as National ‘Sickie’ Day, the date when more workers phone or text their boss with a fake illness than on any day of the year.
The survey of more than 4,000 people found that almost half of the British workforce called work pretending to be sick at least once a year, costing an estimated £4 billion in lost business.
