A hospital consultant has been awarded more than £1.6m compensation after winning her case for racial discrimination against South Tyneside hospital. The award is the second highest payout from an employment tribunal.
The tribunal ruled that Feyi Awotona, 50, had been the victim of racial discrimination and was unfairly dismissed by the NHS trust seven years ago.
