Breastfeeding in Scottish workplaces protected by law

    A new law guaranteeing the right of mothers to breastfeed in public places has been passed by the Scottish Parliament. The Breastfeeding etc. (Scotland) Act 2004 makes it an offence to prevent or stop a child under the age of two years who is permitted to be in a public place or licensed premises from being fed milk in that place.

    A 'public place' means any place to which the public has access, on payment or otherwise, as of right or by virtue of express or implied permission. The legislatio... (68 more words)
