BP has been fined £200,000 after a dangerous gas escape on a North Sea oil rig two years ago, reports the BBC. BP pleaded guilty to endangering the health and safety of workers, after more than a ton of hydrocarbon gas escaped when a corroded pipe ruptured. No fire or explosion actually resulted from the leak.
