ESA Launches Waste Industry Accident Reduction Charter

The Environmental Services Association (ESA) has launched an Accident Reduction Charter as a major new initiative to improve health and safety performance in the waste management industry.

The ESA’s Charter aims to reduce the incidence rate of accidents reportable under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 (RIDDOR) by 10% every year until 2007 and to eliminate fatalities by the end of that period.
