The Chancellor announced that he will work towards moving the requirement to pay the Working Tax Credit (WTC) from employers to the Inland Revenue.
John Whiting, tax partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, welcomed the announcement:
"This is a sensible reform and a proper evolution to the tax credits system. It is good to see the Chancellor has listened to representations we and others have made on the point."
