On 1 June 2008 pre-registration for the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) began.
REACH, the new EU chemicals regulation, requires that chemical substances manufactured in, or imported to the EU, in annual quantities of one tonne or more per company, have to be registered with the European Chemicals Agency.
