Environmental beliefs may be protected by discrimination laws

In a decision that potentially opens the doors to new types of discrimination claims in the future, the EAT has held that a belief in man-made climate change is capable of being a philosophical belief for the purposes of the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003 (Religion / Belief Regulations).  Jonathan Exten-Wright, Employment Partner at DLA Piper, discusses the implications.
