Proposal to Revise Building Regulations Part F (Ventilation)

    Date:
    8 Sep 2003

    Print friendly version

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) plans to revise Part F of the Building Regulations in order to further develop and improve the provision of ventilation to people in buildings. This is reported by the Building Research Establishment (BRE), which has been awarded the contract to provide the necessary technical and administrative support to the ODPM Working Group.

The Working Group will take account of the conclusions of current research projects, and the introduction of an alternative more performance based approach is likely to be considered. The structure of the document itself will be examined for ways of making it easier to follow.

A key part of the process will be a public consultation on any proposed revisions and an investigation of their impacts on small businesses. For more information, contact David Ross at BRE, tel. 01923 664505, or e-mail rossd@bre.co.uk.
