The Fixed Term Employees (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations 2002 came into force on 1 October 2002 and provide statutory protection for fixed-term employees. The Regulations state that fixed-term employees have the right not to be treated less favourably than comparable permanent employees because they are employed on a fixed-term basis, unless the different treatment can be objectively justified.
