The Environmental Protection Act 1990 came into force on 1 November 1990 and establishes in England, Scotland and Wales businesses’ legal responsibilities for the duty of care for waste, contaminated land and statutory nuisance.
The Regulations:
set out businesses’ ‘duty of care’ responsibilities for producing, collecting, disposing of or treating controlled waste;
