Falls in the workplace remain a significant source of concern, both for employers and enforcing authorities. The HSE indicates that in the year 2009-10, despite the figure of 152 worker deaths in total being 31% lower than the average for the past five years, there were still 22 reported fatalities caused from falls from height at work, in addition to more than 4,000 major injuries.
