Data protection: your obligations

Before considering the impact the Data Protection Act 1998 has on specific areas which an employer is likely to encounter, consideration is given to its remit.

 

The Data Protection Act was introduced in 2000 to cover storage of personal data manually processed provided it is in a ‘relevant filing system’ in addition to information contained on a computer.
