    A new report - 'Towards a Better Understanding of Sickness Absence Costs' - has been published by insurance company Unum, which may be of interest to members struggling to count the cost of absence levels.

    The research estimates that up to 16% of a company's annual salary bill may be spent by employers on absence costs.
