Transporting Waste Illegally Costs Company over £12K

    A Merseyside company has been fined £6,000 for illegally transporting chemical waste. SLH Logistics were also ordered to pay £2,231.80 in costs and £4119.71 in compensation to the Environment Agency.

    Matt Lockett, prosecuting for the Environment Agency, told Wallasey Magistrates’ Court that on 30 May 2002, two Environment Agency officers visited the Gadya Industrial Park, Birkenhead, in response to a call from the Merseyside Fire Service.
