The Landfill (Scotland) Regulations 2003 (SSI 2003 No. 208) came into force on 21 March 2003. This sets out a pollution control regime for landfills for the purpose of implementing the Landfill Directive (99/31/EC) in Scotland.

The legislation mirrors the requirements of the Landfill Regulations that were introduced into England last years.
