Learner lorry and bus drivers will have to be quicker off the mark in their driving theory exam if they want to drive on Britain's roads from today.

The Driving Standards Agency has increased the pass mark for the hazard perception part of the theory test from 44 out of 75 to 46 out of 75. The pass mark will rise a further two points to 48 out of 75 on 1 June 2003.
