We often hear how our modern labour market needs to remain flexible if business is to be competitive. Indeed, in the UK there is a great variety of ways in which an individual can be engaged to provide services.
However, the benefit for employers of many types of flexible arrangements has been eroded by increased legislation.
Already Regulations outlaw any difference in pay, benefits and other conditions afforded to part-time workers when compared to full-timers engaged in similar work.
