In the latest dress code dispute, a policeman in Liverpool is taking Merseyside Police to a Tribunal after his request to wear an earring at work was turned down.
Andy Holden is claiming that the ban amounts to sex discrimination, because female officers are allowed to wear earrings.
This follows a case (reported on the Network, 15 October) when a civil servant announced he was taking his employer to a tribunal because he thought that the dress code was far more restrictive for men than for woemn.
