Councils warned over ‘legal tripwires’ in redundancies

    A BBC survey released this weekend has suggested that UK councils could cut over 25,000 jobs over the next five years.

    The prediction is based on a survey of 49 councils. More than 70% of councils in England that responded to the survey predicted spending cuts of between 5% and 20%.

    Mark Hammerton, Partner at law firm, Eversheds, warns of the legal implications of the redundancies. He said:
