Man wins compensation over ‘racist’ Irish joke

    A man who claimed he was the victim of race discrimination has been awarded compensation.

     

    Councillor Ken Bamber from Medway Council is reported to have told a joke about the Irish which was heard by Unison representative Brian Kelly. He is reported to have said: “A man walked into a Dublin bar and saw a friend sitting with an empty glass. 'Paddy can I buy you another', he asked, to which Paddy replied 'now what would I be wanting with another empty glass?’"
