DDA: £15,000 Compensation to Worker Sacked by Disability Charity

    A man has won £15,000 compensation under disability legislation, after he was dismissed by a charity which was set up to help disabled people. The judgment has been welcomed by the Disability Rights Commission (DRC), reports Ananova.

    According to the report, Robert Ellis was employed as a porter and handyman by Ideal for All in Smethwick, West Midlands. The charity made six redundancies, and found alternative work for the other five workers affected. The Tribunal ruled that the charity had f... (60 more words)
