Injury to feelings awards to increase

    A recent Employment Appeals Tribunal decision has increased the guideline figures for compensation for injury to feelings.

    Claimants in unfair dismissal cases can only recover compensation to cover economic loss. However, a claimant in a discrimination case can be awarded compensation for injury to feelings.
