Over 3.25 million people in the UK exceed Europe’s 48-hour working week, the TUC has claimed. Of those, the majority (37.6%) only exceed the 48 hours by one or two hours. However, 9% work between 66 and 98 hours per week.
The TUC argues that the fact that the majority only exceed the 48 hours by an hour or two strengthens their campaign to scrap the opt-out.
